Though the country is known for its turbulent history, today it’s a beautiful European destination1substitution1. Hi, I’m Rebecca Brayton and welcome to watchmojo.com and today we will be continuing our travel series of the look of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Bosnia-Herzegovina is located in south eastern Europe and boasts a population of over four and a half million. The country was considered part of Yugoslavia until it won its independence1intolerance1 during the nineteen nineties. Today, its capital and larger city is Sarajevo, and this metropolis is often referred to as the Jerusalem of Europe for the wide range of religions that is in encompasses.
Bordering Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro1161, Bosnia-Herzegovina helps form the Balkan peninsula. The country also has a short coastline of 121161 miles on the Adriatic sea but otherwise it is completely landlocked.
The country is roughly defined into the regions Bosnia in the north and Herzegovina in the south, with the northern section being the larger of the two. The capital of the Herzegovina region is Mostar, a historically and culturally important city. A good portion of the country is covered in mountains1oceans1 while the eastern and central regions boast forested1deserted1 areas.
Bosnia-Herzegovina is also home to a number of major rivers that run through the stunning landscape.
With a typically continental climate, Bosnia-Herzegovina boasts seasoning summers offset by snow filled chilly winters.
Tourism in the country has increased1reduced1 greatly in recent years and continues to grow. Landmarks of cultural, religious and historical significance draw visitors as do the country’s world class skiing destinations. Athletic1Economic1 travellers can partake in another well-liked local activity, whitewater rafting is wildly popular with residents who often ride down the country’s many rivers.
With its cultural diversity, historic significance and gorgeous scenery, Bosnia-Herzegovina will continue dazzling tourists for years to come.
