These included 19551nineteen fifty-five1's Montgomery Bus Boycott in support of Rosa Parks.
A <acronym title="tournant décisif">watershed</acronym> moment came in 19571 when a high school in Arkansas admitted a group of African American students1, nicknamed 'the Little Rock Nine'. Protested by fellow students, the governor, and even the state’s National Guard, President Dwight Eisenhower eventually intervened1 to ensure the students’ safe passage. By 19621, Universities also began integrating, <acronym title="bien que (although)">though</acronym> black students were still met with protests1 and violence1.
