Located on the west coast, California is the third largest state in America, with over thirty-six and a half million residents, it is the most popular state in the country. The capital city is Sacramento, however the four largest cities in California are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco. The state boasts a diverse climate and geographical terrain. Features of this landscape include peaks, such as the Sierra Nevada mountains in the east, as well as desert areas, forests and valleys. The population of California is also well-know for being colorful, stemming from a large immigrant population. The culture in California is therefore strongly influenced by its immigrant population from Latin America and East Asia. This coastal state is easily considered an international junction bringing together various cultures and peoples.
