This Scandinavian1 country was <acronym title="autrefois">once</acronym> the home of the Vikings1. Welcome to Watch Mojo.com and today, we’ll be continuing our travel series with a look at Norway.
Officially known as the kingdom1 of Norway, this country1 is found in northern1 Europe. This nordic1 country is also one of the nations that forms the scandinavian peninsula1. With an area of almost one hundred and fifty square1 miles, this is one of the largest countries in Europe1. <acronym title="cependant">However</acronym>, its population of 4.9 million1 makes it Europe second least densely1 populated country.
Norway shares much of its <acronym title="frontière">border</acronym> with neighboring Sweden while also touching Finland and Russia1. Its capital1 city is Oslo and this is the country’s largest city1 as well.
Norway is well-known for its beautiful <acronym title="paysage">landscape</acronym>. In fact, some of the country’s most popular1 attractions are its vast and deep fjords1. The countryside1 is a mountainous one which is punctuated by plateau sections1 in the central1 and southwestern regions.
You’ll also <acronym title="rencontrer">encounter</acronym> a number of glaciers1 <acronym title="partout dans">throughout</acronym> the area.
Considering Norway’s latitude1, its climate is relatively <acronym title="doux">mild</acronym> especially on the west coast1. For example, in Oslo, the temperature1 <acronym title="varier">ranges</acronym> from forty-one degrees fahrenheit in January1 to eighty-two degrees Fahrenheit in July.
Norway is <acronym title="à la fois">both</acronym> ultra-modern and delightfully traditional in its culture1. The country has successfully preserved <acronym title="beaucoup">a great deal</acronym> of the old world1 culture <acronym title="en raison de">due to</acronym> its relative isolation from outside1 influence until the 20th century1. For example, you can <acronym title="être témoin de, assister à">witness</acronym> <acronym title="les rites populaires">the folk rituals</acronym> and practice during celebrations1 on the country’s constitution1 day that take place each year on May 17th.
In terms of religion1, almost ninety percent1 of Norway’s population <acronym title="appartenir">belongs</acronym> to the country’s Evangelical lutheran nationa1l church ; the church1 of Norway.
This scandinavian country is also a great site to view <acronym title="renne">reindeer</acronym>, whales, eagles1 and more beautiful <acronym title="nature">wildlife</acronym> and this helps make Norway1 a fascinating place to visit.
